With your written authorization, we dispute eligible items on your behalf by communicating directly with the credit bureaus and, when appropriate, the reporting companies under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Throughout the process, we keep you informed so you always know what’s happening and what comes next.
Once we identify information that may be inaccurate, unverifiable, or misleading, it is entered into our system so we can begin the dispute process. This process challenges the reporting of the credit bureaus and, when appropriate, the creditor or collection agency furnishing the information.
Dispute communications are sent to each relevant party, and responses typically take up to 30–45 days as we wait for updates and verification. Throughout the process, we manage the work from start to finish and keep you informed as your credit reports are updated.
When updated credit reports are returned, we review them to confirm whether disputed items were corrected, verified, or updated.
If an item remains, we follow up with the credit bureaus and, when appropriate, the furnishing entities. If an item is verified, we may also evaluate whether a legal review is appropriate to identify potential FCRA or FDCPA violations. As items are resolved, we move on to the next eligible item and continue the process to provide full-service support.
